Introduction
The Geography Explorer Competition is an annual, online national competition for primary and secondary school students across Malaysia. It provides an engaging platform for participants to explore and deepen their understanding of the world through challenges and learning activities and achieve the following objectives:
Our objectives

To inspire curiosity and deepen students’ understanding of the Earth’s physical features and human geography.

To enhance their geographical knowledge and develop a greater appreciation for how natural landscapes and human activities shape our planet.

To develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills through the analysis of geographical patterns, issues, and real-world scenarios.

Geography Explorer Preparatory Workshop 2026/2027
Prepare confidently for the Geography Explorer Competition 2026/2027 through a structured workshop designed to strengthen students’ geographical knowledge, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

How to register
To register for this workshop, participants are required to:
- Register for the ‘Geography Explorer Competition’ via contesthub.my/register first.
- Add-on the ‘Geography Explorer Preparatory Workshop’ during the competition registration process.
- Complete the registration through the teacher-in-charge.
Please note that registration for the Geography Explorer Preparatory Workshop only is not permitted.

The Geography Explorer Competition programme in Malaysia comprises four stages:

Malaysian Geography Olympiad (MyGeo)
- The top 10% from the secondary category (16–19 years old)
- Paper-based exam (offline)

Awards and Certificates
Each participant will receive a certificate of participation. Awards will be given to the top scorers, according to the percentiles as shown below. The awards are symbolic, not an actual medal.

will receive a Gold, Silver or Bronze Award Certificate

will receive an Honorable Mention Certificate
40% of participants
Remaining 50%
will receive a Certificate of Participation
