Four bright young minds, Yee Sui Wei, Ashwin Asokan, Bryan Ng, and Lim Pei Ying, recently embarked on an intensive training camp at the University of Malaya to prepare for the International Geography Olympiad (iGeo). Under the expert guidance of Dr. Mariney and Dr. Amirah, the students delved into the world of geography, combining classroom theory with practical fieldwork.

From learning about weather data collection at the UM meteorological station to conducting a simulated fieldwork at Varsity Park, the camp was packed with hands-on experiences. The students also gained valuable insights into GIS and Remote Sensing, tools that are essential for modern geographers. As the competition in Ireland drew closer, the focus shifted to exam preparation, poster presentation skills, and packing essentials for the journey.

The training camp was more than just academics; it was a platform for personal growth and camaraderie. The students not only honed their geographical knowledge but also developed essential skills like teamwork and problem-solving.
